Article No. 396214:
Electromagnetically released spring-applied brakes are utilized in applications where rapid deceleration of moving masses or holding masses in a specific position is essential.
These brakes use tappet springs to apply the braking force, ensuring that the braking torque generated by friction remains available even when the brake is not energized, such as during a mains failure. The brake is released electromagnetically.
These brakes are commonly used in brake motors, conveyors, cranes, storage technology, industrial trucks, woodworking machines, stage machinery, vehicles for the disabled, automation technology, controlled drives, gate drives, and escalators.
To reduce the braking torque, the basic module E (adjustable braking torque) can be used by unscrewing the centrally located torque adjustment ring, which decreases the spring force and, consequently, the braking torque.
The complete brake assembly includes a stator (magnet-part) complete with the basic E adjustable design, a rotor (standard with aluminum), and a hub. The technical specifications for this brake are as follows:
- Manufacturer: Intorq
- Type: BFK458
- Size: 12
- Design: E – adjustable braking torque
- Characteristic torque: 32 [Nm] max
